Hello! I am Mark Harper! I was born in London and grew up in the "garden of England" of Kent.
I lived and worked in Sydney and Dubai in my twenties and before recruitment I worked in Finance for just under 10 years before moving to New Zealand in 2010. I literally fell into recruitment (Happy to tell you about this if we meet) and was only planning to do this for 1 year and am still in the recruitment industry after 12!
I love recruitment, I love running the Accounting team here and I love meeting new people!! (okay, sounds a bit cliché but its true) I am truly fascinated watching people grow through their careers and I like to back the under dog! By that I mean people who undersell themselves; the people who underestimate their abilities! I am always there for a chat and a confidence builder! Outside of work I love football (another cliché for an English recruiter) But as an Englishman I am used to the disappointment! Yes Mark, One day England will win the World Cup!
3 interesting facts about myself 1. I abseiled down the side of the Forsyth Barr building during the Christchurch earthquake in my second week in recruitment. 2. I donated half my liver to my son Oscar back in 2019. 3. I was a volunteer driver on the Ukraine/Poland border driving refugees from the War earlier in 2022.
